RITA ROSENBLIT
Rita Rosenblit is a freelance portrait and wedding photographer located in Brooklyn, NY. Rita Rosenblit has been doing photography for an extended period of time. She specializes in portrait photography because she is most drawn to the human face and expression – that is, the unposed and raw look that is more than just an image – something that tells a story. Rita travels throughout the world trying to capture faces that carry the essence of the country. Rita Rosenblit has lived in the Middle East (Israel) for three and a half years, two months in Spain, and spent her childhood in Russia, traveling to other countries and continents in between.
In college, Rita Rosenblit studied biology and computer science. Her love of visual arts and colors has always been present; her eyes always drawn to images and shapes. While biology satisfied her drive towards shapes, computer science completed her technological curiosity. Rita Rosenblit briefly studied film photography, but quickly switched to digital. The range of capabilites that digital editing contained surpassed that of film photography. Rita Rosenblit works with Lightroom, Photoshop and various plugins to produce images of the highest quality.
Rita Rosenblit’s interest in photography sparked her pursuit of various classes and self teaching through books and other medium. She is continuously expanding her knowledge and trying to surpass her present creativity and technique. Rita takes classes at ICP (International Center of Photography) in Manhattan which have included the digital SLR camera, the on-camera flash, lighting for portraiture, the intimate portrait, color management and inkjet printing. She also functions as a teacher’s assistant at ICP. To improve her graphic design skills, Rita Rosenblit has also taken Graphic design at the New School (Parson’s) and Typography at SVA (School of Visual Arts).
Rita Rosenblit works with Canon camera and a number of lenses, some of which she rents on per-need basis. She shoots events with two speedlites (on-camera flash system) with various adaptors (Gary Fong) and light stand with an umbrella as the main light source. For portraiture photography she believes in a mix of in-studio and outside. She has an in-home studio with two strobes and various backdrops.
Rita is a photojournalistic photographer. She believes that the unposed portrait has the perfect balance of personality and inner beauty. While portraiture and headshots may require more guidance, she shoots weddings with minimal guidance, allowing the couple to be absorbed in the joys of their wedding day without having to satiate the photographer’s needs.
